Parent Academy
Dover Preschool Parent Academy assists parents and teachers in bridging the gap between school and home for our early childhood learners. As part of providing our preschool students and families with comprehensive support, we will be offering a series of sessions throughout the school year for families. Sessions will cover topics relevant to students/families in our Early Childhood Education and Creative Curriculum program. Parents also learn the latest research in child development. The group dynamics of the workshops create a supportive network for parents. We also incorporate Family Fun Nights as part of Family Engagement. Parent workshop topics are determined by considering teacher feedback, parent input, and the overall needs of the preschool program. Some of the topics that will be covered throughout the school year are listed below:
- How to Carry Over What They Learn
- Understanding Child Development
- The Importance of Reading
- Nutrition Workshop
- Transition to Kindergarten
If you have any suggestions for topics you would like to see covered, please contact our Family Engagement Specialist and Community and Parent Involvement Specialist, Ms. Johanny Jimenez Bosch via email at: jjimenezbosch@dover-nj.org or by phone at (973) 989-2000 Ext. 6012.
